The Unobits platform
Your personal settings
Profile, avatar, password and sessions; appearance and accessibility; language, region and time zone; notifications, sounds, presence and privacy.
On this page
Your personal settings follow you across the workspace. Open them from the sidebar or press Alt+Shift+S. Use the search at the top of Settings to jump to any option.
Account#
- Personal information — full name, display name, nickname, email and job title.
- Avatar — upload a photo, or design an Unomoji (an illustrated avatar). The two are separate pictures; choose which one teammates see.
- Password — change it with your current password. Passwords need at least 8 characters with a mix of letters and numbers.
- Sessions — sign out every other device where you are signed in.
Your user ID, join date and last activity are shown for reference.
Appearance#
- Theme — match the system, light or dark.
- Accent colour, density (comfortable, cozy or compact) and wallpaper (styles, gradients or your own image, with blur).
- Interface — header clock, high contrast, rounded interface, animations on or off (one switch for all motion), and the fluid “liquid” surfaces.
Accessibility#
- Large text.
- Visible focus outlines — keep this on if you move around with the keyboard.
- High contrast and animations off (under Appearance) also help.
Language and region#
- Interface language — the app is currently available in English. Other languages appear in the list, but choosing one does not yet translate the interface.
- Formats — date format, 12- or 24-hour time, number format, first day of the week, and whether to use relative dates (“Yesterday”).
- Region — time zone, currency and holiday calendar. The holiday calendar decides which public holidays appear in Calendar.
Notifications and sounds#
Alerts, sounds and quiet hours. See Notifications.
Presence and privacy#
- Current status and a status message, with a time after which the message clears.
- Do not disturb, which silences notifications.
- Who can see you — everyone, your team only, or nobody. Anyone outside that circle sees you as offline.
- Show my online status and show when I was last seen.
- Allow direct messages from — who may start a direct message with you.
News#
Add topics — a client, a competitor, a market — and matching headlines appear as slips in the sidebar and under News in the messages flyout.
Workspace#
Default start page, auto-collapsing sidebar, focus mode, advanced sidebar, the setup wizard, add-ons and (for the Owner) workspace vocabulary. See Set up your workspace.
Desktop app#
If you use the Unobits desktop app, these apply to that installation only:
- Open Unobits when I log in, so calls and messages arrive without opening it first.
- Hide this window from screen capture — screenshots and screen shares of the window come out blank. View-once messages switch this on by themselves while they are open.
- App updates download in the background and install when you restart.
Advanced#
- Show Donna's thinking — stream her reasoning as she works. This uses extra AI allowance on every reply.
- Developer mode and verbose logging — for troubleshooting with support.
- Your settings data — export every preference as JSON, import a settings file, or restore defaults. Restoring defaults cannot be undone.
