Triage

The short list the server decides deserves your attention now, each item with its reason — in the Messages flyout, the sidebar slip and on Home.

Updated 24 September 2026

Triage is the short list: the part of your Inbox the server has decided deserves your attention now, each item with the reason it made the list. It is not a separate place with its own messages — it is a view onto the same conversations and situations as your Inbox.

Where Triage appears#

  • The messages flyout — open it from the right edge of the app. Its Messages panel is Triage.
  • The sidebar slip — a compact reminder of what is waiting.
  • The Triage card on Home.

All three show the same list, because they read the same decision from the server.

Why something is on the list#

Each item carries its reason — a question waiting on you, a reply you owe, a sender you marked important, a problem that needs a decision. When the reason stops being true (you replied, it was resolved), the item leaves Triage on its own.

Teach it#

  • Mark a sender important and their messages rise.
  • Mute a sender and they stop surfacing.
  • Not now hides an item from your Triage without resolving it.

What you teach is personal and is shared with the Inbox, so the two agree. Undo it any time in Inbox → Settings → Senders you taught.

What Triage is not#

Triage never sends, archives or resolves anything by itself. It decides what to show you; you decide what to do. For the full list, open the Inbox.
