Calls and meetings

Audio and video calls with teammates and guests, what each plan allows, recording and transcription policy, and the guest links outsiders join with.

Updated 24 September 2026

Unobits has built-in audio and video calls for your team, and guest links for people outside it. What you can do depends on your plan and on the call policy your organization sets.

Start a call#

  • From a Chat conversation, use the call button in the conversation header.
  • From Home, the Calls card shows your next call, its join window and a Schedule call action, and lets you copy the invite.

During a call#

The call window lets you mute and unmute, start and stop video, share your screen, open the call's chat and settings, change the stage layout and end the call. The host can add people, remove someone from the call, hide a participant from the stage and copy a guest link.

Guests#

A guest link lets someone without a Unobits account join a call from their browser. Whether guest links and external participants are allowed at all is part of your organization's call policy.

Recording, transcripts and summaries#

On plans that include recording, your organization decides:

  • whether calls are recorded by default,
  • how recording consent is asked for,
  • whether transcripts are created by default,
  • whether a post-call summary is generated,
  • whether Donna prompts to record on video calls,
  • how long recordings are kept (365 days unless changed).

These are set in Admin → AI and communications by the Owner or an admin with console access. On plans without recording, those options stay off. See AI and communications policy.

Calls and credits#

Direct peer-to-peer call minutes do not use credits. Minutes that are relayed through Unobits' network — needed on some networks and for some group calls — draw on the organization's system credits.
