What Stripe is worth once it is inside.
Stripe is a payment provider for Finance. Customers pay invoices by card through Stripe checkout, and payment events — succeeded, failed, refunded — are verified and recorded against the invoice and the customer.
Card payments on invoices sent from Finance.
Payment events verified by webhook signature before they touch your books.
A failed payment raises a situation in the Inbox.
About as involved as signing in.
No middleware, no connector subscription, no developer. You authorise it once and it stays connected.
- 1
Open Finance › Settings and choose Stripe as a payment provider.
- 2
Add your Stripe credentials to the provider vault.
- 3
Test the connection.
- 4
Send an invoice — the payment link uses Stripe.
Things that then happen without you.
Write these in plain language in Automations — no flowchart required — or build the complicated ones properly when you need to.
Automation
Invoice paid through Stripe → invoice marked paid and posted to the ledger
Automation
Payment failed → situation raised in the Inbox, linked to the customer
Automation
Invoice paid → automation Rule closes the related onboarding task
Specialist tools are fine. Islands are not.
Keep Stripe for what it is genuinely good at, and let it feed the same system your inbox, clients, jobs and invoices already live in.
